Renaissance & Rising:

Yellow River Maiden & Oyster Observatory

Our proposals “Oyster Observatory and “Yellow River Maiden were selected for the The First International Elaborate Sculptures Exhibition of An International City of Sculpture and Cultural Year of Zhengzhou, China.

Proposed Sculpture for Zhengzhou, China

These are our maquette proposals for a sculptural commission for Zhengzhou, China.

We were invited to attend the exhibition and symposium in June 2006 and won an excellent prize for our work, and were also treated to many sight seeing tours - see sculptor Dina Merhav’s article about the experience.

The people of Zhengzhou will be voting for their favourite sculpture and have many works to choose from - 74 by Chinese sculptors and 38 by sculptors from around the world.

Here are ten images of the designs and the exhibition: click on a thumbnail to enlarge it or click on the arrows to see more thumbnail images.

.

If our proposals are commissioned for the city, they would be fabricated from Stainless Steel, Bronze, Copper and Oak with internal LED lighting elements and sited in water.
