Production Method:
Phil constructed the Newt from sections of Oak branches.

Initial chainsaw work to waste off large sections was done by the Rangers under Phil’s supervision. Phil then hand carved the final form using a mallet and gouges.

The surface detail was carved by Phil with assistance from nearly 200 visitors to the Park.
