Echoing Walls

Rincon de Ademuz Sculpture Biennial,

Spain

Diane’s sculpture was selected for the Rincon de Ademuz Sculpture Biennial.

In May we drove to Spain with Chris Butler the Director of Castle Fine Art Foundry, to the village Arroyo Cerezo where the sculpture was to be installed. During the week Phil fixed the work into the walls of an old building in the centre of the village, whilst Diane made more faces in wax for Chris to cast into bronze. Seven faces had previously been cast at Castle Fine Art Foundry.

Eventually twelve faces were installed, eleven bronze and one glass (cast by Jackson Fawkes).

The hospitality in Spain was wonderful. The Rodilla family from the village have become special friends. They had helped Phil two years ago when he and Chris built the horse sculpture in the same village.

The final weekend, when many of the participating sculptors turned up, was great fun. We were all treated to lovely food and trips out to see the many sculptures that were placed throughout the region.

On the final day Chris did another bronze casting to demonstrate the process, and he was presented with a special prize at the prize giving event too.
