Description:
The Bull, at 5 metres high, is constructed using the natural bends in
selected lengths of English Oak tree branches, with some surface carving and
a copper covering on the tips of the horns.
The sculpture is sited in the sheep field, close to the A48 on a low
earth mound. The four ‘hooves’ are bolted, through concealed stainless steel
brackets, to concrete base pads installed below ground.

Phil constructed the sculpture at Taurus Crafts, with a degree of

the Camp Hill Trust. Securely braced scaffolding was erected
to enable access and a gantry for chain hoist lifting of the heavy oak
timbers. These were shaped by chainsaw and hand tools and fixed with
stainless steel bolts. The four stainless steel fixing brackets were
fabricated by ABR a specialist contractor.
