Bird Bridge, Fox Marker Post
and Fish Dipping Platform

Nan Nook, Wythenshawe Park, Manchester Commissioned by Wythenshawe Park, Manchester City Council

Height 3.5m, length 6m, width 1.2m. Carved and constructed oak sourced locally (to our studio) from the Forest of Dean, with branches selected specifically for the relevance of their form. This bridge is one of three related works in a suite completed in 2009 for Nan Nook Woods in Wythenshawe Park.

The other works, also in oak, comprise a Fox Marker Post height 2.3m and Fish Dipping Platform comprising decking, 4.6m long seating along one edge, a fish barrier and frog entrance marker post. Move mouse to swop image.

The wildlife theme, and material used, was appropriate to the woodland site and arrived at after consultation with the Wythenshawe Park Rangers and local Parkwatch members.
