Description:
Our design takes the form of a series of overlapping 2-metre high screens, comprising sculptural low reliefs constructed from vertical carved oak boards, cast glass, and flanked by a third element of clumps of growing bamboo. The imagery carved on both sides of the screens and seen in the modelled sections of cast glass were based on workshops, talks with the clients and staff and our own researches - drawing and photographs in Belfast, the north coast and Donegal. Paul Wigley constructed the screens from Dean Oak with Phil’s assistance. Sandra Nuin , a sculptor from Spain helped with the carving for a week. Jackson Fawkes, cast the glass, from Diane's clay reliefs which she cast into wax prior to their being cast into glass. Installation by Chris Butler Directer of Castle Fine Arts
Foundry, and Phil.
